How to use

Prepskin

For a streak-free self tan:

Apply to clean, exfoliated skin using our Bronze On Applicator Mitt
Use sparingly on elbows, knees and ankles. Apply 3-4 pumps per body part. Wash hands after application.
Rinse in cool or lukewarm water for 45 seconds after 1-4+ hours.

CHOOSE HOW DARK YOU WANT TO GO: CHOOSE HOW DARK YOU WANT TO GO: The fast tan actives will begin to activate immediately upon application. Rinse in 1 hour for a light, natural tan. For a darker tan, leave on longer. The tan will stop developing at 8 hours. Rinse with lukewarm water only for 45 seconds. Do not use soap or scrubs. The water will rinse off the temporary brown bronzers. The tan will continue to deepen in color over the next 24 hours following the rinse. Regular showering may be taken 8 hours after the first rinse.

Salon Pro Tip: Results should last 5-7 days without patchiness if well maintained. To ensure long lasting results, apply a body moisturizer daily, do not use exfoliators, and avoid swimming and bathing.

HANDLING: If product comes into contact with hands or clothing rinse immediately. Do not leave contents open or uncovered. For best results store Self Tan Foams in a cool, dark environment out of direct sunlight and below 30ºC /86°F. Self Tan Foams should not be used after being open for more than 6 months.

Before

Exfoliate and moisturize

24 hours before you apply your self tan, paying particular attention to elbows, knees, ankles and problem areas
Wax or shave at least 48 hours prior to treatment.

this allows the pores time to close. Dotting in pores may appear if not adhered to.
Don’t apply moisturiser, perfume, deodorant or makeup on the day of application.

these products may act as a barrier against your skin and can prevent the tanning actives from developing evenly.

After

Wear dark loose clothing

tight clothing or underwear may cause marks. wear loose fitting shoes.
Moisturize everyday after applying your self tan

or consider using a gradual tan so that your tan is continually being topped up and your tan lasts longer.
After day 5, exfoliate with a soft body polish on a daily basis

this help your skin absorb even more moisturizer and keep it looking and feeling gorgeous. This also helps the tan fade naturally, rather than in patches.

Doesn’t resist sweating during application but otherwise a very nice tan

This is not the kind of sweat-proof I was hoping for, but it still gave me a nice, long-lasting tan.

I’m a heavy sweater. I (probably?) don’t have hyperhidrosis, but even light effort in warm or humid conditions leaves me with a faint sheen of sweat that makes it hard to apply self-tanner evenly. Even if I start out completely dry, buffing in the product makes me sweat enough to streak.

I was hoping that this product would be easier to apply on skin that doesn’t stay dry, and unfortunately it wasn’t. My normal light sweating left a streaky mess that took several rounds of buffing, blasting with a cool hairdryer, powdering, and swearing. (i.e., my usual self-tanning experience, regardless of the brand or formula.)

Once I got it to set, I left it on for three hours before rinsing and got a nice medium/dark result. I think the results would have been darker if I hadn’t lost so much product to repeated buffing. The color was a nice cool/neutral brown: not at all orange, not too yellow, and not too green. (This suited my cool toned, fair/light skin better than Double Dark, which is lovely but pulls more golden on me.)

Where the sweat-proof formula did pay off was in the wear. This lasted for more than a week, despite lots of walking in hot weather and one lifting session, and faded very slowly and evenly.

I’d recommend that MineTan update the product description to make it clear that it’s resistant to fading due to sweating AFTER application, not sweating DURING…
